Introduction : Aman-I-Khas is a delightful tented
accommodation set in the backdrop of the rugged Aravalli hills
of Rajasthan. The camp is strategically located just outside
the world famous Ranthambore National Park. The tents are
made of hardy water resistant canvas. The Aman-I-Khas is a
venture of celebrated hotelier Adrian Zecha and caters to
up-market clients. The camps are set up in the month of October
and remain pitched till the end of April.
Accommodation : The tented accommodations at Aman-I-Khas
are fabulous and have a distinct Mughal aura. They are also
very spacious with a built up area of 108 sq.m. The interiors
and ceilings are adorned in the finest variety of cotton.
All tents are luxuriously appointed with comfortable armchair,
dining table and chairs. There are exclusive wings for sleeping,
bathing and dressing. There is the king sized bed which is
luxurious. The bathing enclosure has a built-in shower, a
tub and a toilet which is set apart. The furniture is modest
much like the tented accommodations of the bygone era.
Dining : Although there is a dining tent at Aman-I-Khas,
meals are often served in varied outdoor locations within
the sprawling camp site. In the winters bonfires are lit up
around which guests are served dinners. As far as cuisines
are concerned, a variety of nouveau international cuisines
and Indian delicacies are offered to the discerning guests
of the hotel. As far as quality and authenticity of food is
concerned, most of the vegetables come from the camp's own
exclusive organic garden.
Recreation : Aman-I-Khas offers excellent wildlife
safaris inside the haunting wilderness of Ranthambore National
Park. Nature walks in close proximity to the campsite is encouraged
by Aman-I-Khas. The royal sport of horse riding is also much
preferred by the guests. There are two massage tables at the
spa at the camp. A variety of rejuvenation therapies are offered
to guests. Also of special significance, is the visit to Dastkar
Kendra, which is a non-profit women's co-operative endeavor,
where visitors can shop for ethnic clothing and handicrafts
as well see these items being made by the skilled craftswomen.
